The singing duo Hall and Oates has filed a lawsuit against a Brooklyn granola company, Early Bird Foods, because of their interestingly-named cereal “Haulin’ Oats.” The reasoning behind the lawsuit is that it violates the band’s trademark.
Now for the tasteless jokes this story deserves:
Could it be that Hall and Oates’ faded notoriety has put them out of touch with reality? Are they behaving like a man-eater and want to go one-on-one with a granola company because the only thing that can be said about their fame is, “she’s gone?”
According to CNN Money:
This is actually the second time that Hall & Oates has taken issue with a company selling a cereal branded Haulin’ Oates. The pair found that an organic oatmeal company, located in Kentucky and California, selling oatmeal under the same name in 2014. They entered into a deal with the firm according to the lawsuit, and that Haulin’ Oates brand is currently available in five states.
Well, I don’t know about anyone else, but I can’t go for that.
